Commemorating the End of the Forgotten War-Korea



At the time of this interview with Army Col. David Clark, Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of the committee to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War, President Obama hadn't committed to appearing at the event on Saturday, July 27.

The White House has since announced the President's participation.

Col. Clark makes a compelling case for all Americans to recognize the day on which the armistice was signed, marking the cease-fire that ended major hostilities on the Korean Peninsula.  He says technically, the war never ended.  And although it was never declared a war officially, people are now recognizing the "conflict" for what it was; a war.

Help Children With Self Esteem-Support Wigs for Kids


The annual Wigs for Kids day will be held this Saturday, with a plethora of events to benefit the organization that provides prosthetic hair pieces for children suffering from a variety of conditions.

Jeffrey Paul, the founder of Jeffrey Paul Salon, Restoring Beautiful Hair and Wigs for Kids explains how wigs for kids started by accident.  He was hairstylist to the stars, and did not intend to dedicate his life to helping children.  It started with one wig.

The Original House of Horrors in Cleveland on Imperial Avenue



Michael Madison was reported to be "inspired" by Anthony Sowell, when he kidnapped and murdered women in and around his home in East Cleveland.

Investigative reporter Rob Sberna has spoken with Anthony Sowell several times, corresponding with the serial killer on the phone and by letter in his research for the book House of Horrors, The Shocking True Story of Anthony Sowell, The Cleveland Strangler.

Sberna has also spoken with many family members of the 11 women who Sowell was convicted of killing, and two women who fought their way out of Sowell's home on Imperial Avenue.

In his conversation, the author talks about why Sowell says he attacked all those women, and about the differences between Sowell and Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus.

Senior Games Bring Tens of Thousands To Cleveland

Blind Cats Get Some Much Needed Medical Care


A fundraiser was held on Sunday, July 14th for Abandoned Animal Welfare, a non-profit organization working to rescue stray cats, specifically, to cover the expenses of treating several blind cats who were caged for seven years.  Barb Clark, the founder of AAW, is joined in this interview by Dr. Wendy Frankman of the Animal Clinic of Chardon, where the sick cats were nursed back to health.

Saving The Ash Tree In Cleveland



Rob Gorden is Director of Urban Forestry for Arborjet.  The Massachusetts company is helping save some ash trees on W. 50th Street in Ohio City, after residents pooled their money to pay for the service.  Gorden says it's a lot less costly to save the trees than to chop them down, just because they are threatened by the emerald ash borer, and he's hoping the city of Cleveland agrees to stop removing the trees, and start preserving them.

Dr. Ray Pulls No Punches About Divorce, Parents




Dr. Ray Guarendi is a frequent speaker on childhood behavior and moral issues, and has written several books bout parenting, adoption and marriage. 

In this interview, Dr. Ray discusses a new study showing the negative effects divorce has on children.  It's based on a new study out of the UK, which shows how a law making it easier to get a divorce in 1971 affected the generations that followed.
