Attorney General On Hobby Lobby Case and Rape Kits

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine visited on the same day the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments about the contraception mandate under Obamacare.  DeWine explained his opposition to the mandate, and discussed "probably one of the most rewarding things I've ever done in public office."  Namely, testing old evidence from "rape kits" that had been sitting on shelves in police departments across the state, some of them for decades.

Obamacare Sending More People To Emergency Rooms


Ohio has high quality emergency medicine, at least when compared to the rest of the country, according to the report card just issued by the American College of Emergency Physicians.  Dr. Thomas Tallman, Director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Disaster medicine at the Cleveland Clinic explains why Ohio's rank moved from 18th in 209 to 7th last year.

Dr. Tallman also offers his assessment of the effect Obamacare is having on emergency room use.  He says people with insurance purchased on the health care exchanges are turning more to hspital emergency rooms for treatment of various ailments, because an increasing number of health care providers aren't accepting patients with insurance provided under the Affordable care act.

Kate Hubben of Willis Helps Us Understand Obamacare



Kate Hubben is a client advisor for Willis of Ohio, which offers risk management advice and service. That sevice includes sifting through the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, to help her clients make the best decisions for their companies and workers.

She explains how premiums will rise, and how some individuals may choose to take the tax penalty, rather than pay for health insurance.  She also tells Jim how some companies may legally opt out of providing health coverage for their employees, and at what price.
