The Hardest Thing In This World, By Nicole Eva Fraser

This is the first novel for Nicole Eva Fraser, who works at American Greetings and volunteers for Project Learn.  The Bay Village writer has visited eastern Africa to help tutor students there, and is helping send a young man from Malawi through college. 

The Hardest Thing In This World is a literary novel about family, mental illness, and the search for hope and meaning in the pain that touches her characters' lives.  The book begins with an act that some may consider shocking.  Jim and Nicole talk about it about 20 minutes into the interview.
