Welcome House, serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Northeast Ohio for more than 40 years, is now offering in-home skilled nursing services.  Executive Director Tony Thomas explains how Welcome House has expanded to fill the need for Home Health Services for its clients AND their caregivers.

Celebrating Cleveland Success On Gingerbread Lane

Gingerbread Lane is once again on display at the Great Northern Mall. It is an event created by Welcome House, an organization that for the past 40 years has focused on helping people with developmental disabilities.

This year's theme is Celebrating Cleveland Success.  The houses are modeled after some Cleveland Landmarks and made by local bakers.  Chef Angelo Colozza of Colozza's Bakery in Parma is among the bakers participating in this years gingerbread lane display. He explains the effort needed to build a gingerbread house in this interview, and he is accompanied by Tony Thomas, Executive Director of Welcome House, and Todd Schwartz, the organizer of the event.

Raising Funds on Two Wheels for Welcome House and Cancer Research

Have you ever ridden a bicycle 230 miles?  That's what Tony Thomas, executive director of Welcome House will be doing on July 19th and 20th for the VeloSano fundraiser.  This two-day bike ride will help raise money for cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic and Welcome House, an organization determined to help individuals with developmental disabilities live a full life.

Welcome House is comprised of 32 facilities in various locations throughout Cuyahoga County to help children and adults with developmental disabilities.  Jim interviews Executive Director Tony Thomas, as the Welcome House staff prepares for the annual Gingerbread Lane, a promotion at Great Northern Mall featuring 13 gingerbread houses made by professional bakers to bring awareness to Welcome House.
