Career Day With Arts and Culture Organizations Planned


An Arts and Culture Career Day is coming up on November 7th at Severance Hall.  The mission of NOCHE focuses equally on higher education and business, according to Associate Director Shawn Brown, with an internship program (NEO Intern) and the Northeast Ohio Talent Dividend, to encourage students to complete their college degrees.

The "Linking Talent to Opportunity"  Career Day event will feature opportunities for job seekers in a variety of professions to meet face to face with representatives of organizations like The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Cleveland Children's Museum, and Salem Communications Cleveland.

The event is free, but students and job seekers, employers and college representatives must register here.

The Original Dream Girl Helps the Youth of Mt. Zion


The original Dream Girl, Jennifer Holliday will perform November 8th at Mt. Zion  Church in Oakwood Village, to benefit the Children and Youth Center of Leadership and Excellence the church plans to build.

Sharon Evans, the Development Contractor for the Center talks about the family-based ministry of Mt. Zion Church, led by Pastor Larry Macon.

Ms. Evans also discusses plans to honor our nation's heroes at Mt. Zion, with a Veteran's Day program at the church, featuring former Tuskegee Airman Colonel Roy Richardson and Newschannel 5's Leon Bibb.

The Big Chuck and Lil' John Ghoulardifest To Feature Tim Conway, Hoolihan, and Goddard


The Big Chuck and Lil' John  Ghoulardifest celebrates all things Ghoulardi.  This is the 50th anniversary year of the first Ghoulardi broadcast, and fittingly, this year's celebration will be the most memorable of all.
Tim Conway will make a special appearance On Saturday afternoon.

In this interview with Jim, Lil' John explains the Tim Conway connection, and shared several other stories related to Ghoulardi's alter ego, Ernie Anderson, and the late night shows that followed, including Hoolihan and Big Chuck.  Bob Wells (aka Hoolihan) will also appear at Ghoulardifest.

It takes place November 1, 2 and 3 at the LaVilla Conference and Banquet Center on Brookpark Road in Cleveland, and will feature non-stop entertainment, including two Beatles tribute bands.

Constitutional Issues Debated By Legal Heavy Hitters




Constitution Under Fire, an examination of current events viewed within the context of the U. S. Constitution, featured the insights of  Hugh Hewitt, host of the Hugh Hewitt Show from 6:00-9:00PM on AM 1420, The Answer, and  Avery Friedman, the Cleveland-based civil right attorney who serves as a legal analyst for CNN.  Both teach constitutional law and have different opinions about the constitutionality of issues like Obamacare, presidential power, and privacy protections. But they find common ground on some issues, too.

A Wounded Warrior Gets Help, After Getting Ripped Off










Alex and Mallorie Haworth are getting some much needed help, thanks in large part to the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism, or NEOPAT  Alex is a wounded warrior, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan who returned home after suffering severe injuries on the battlefield.  He and Malorie purchased what they thought would be their dream house in their hometown of Olmsted Falls.  But it was a nightmare.

Mike Swallow, the founder of NEOPAT is helping the Haworths in a number of ways, as he explains in this interview with Jim.  And Alex and Mallorie explain their situation, and express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has chipped-in to help their burgeoning family.

Working to Prevent Prescription Drug Abuse



The state of Ohio has launched a new initiative, along with The Partnership at drugfree.org to tackle prescription pain medication abuse among children and teens.  In this interview, Jim discusses the effort with Orman Hall, the Director of the Governor's Cabinet Opiate Action team, Steve Cline of the Partnership at Drugfree.org, and Rob Brandt, who lost his son to an overdose, and who works to prevent it from happening to others through Robby's Voice.

The Rolling Stones are the Rock Hall's Music Masters


Greg Harris, President and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum previews the tribute concert to honor the Rolling Stones in the 18th annual Music Masters Series Saturday night.  He also explains how the Stones have endured for more than 50 years, and promotes the exhibit on the Rolling Stones on display at the Rock Hall through the end of the year.
